Eliminator match! Flyweight firecracker between Brandon Royval vs. Manel Kape rescheduled for UFC 317

A Flyweight banger is going down in June (again).

No. 1 ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Flyweight, and former title challenger Brandon Royval will collide with No. 6 seed Manel Kape at UFC 317 this summer (Sat., June 28, 2025) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, during International Fight Week.

The two Flyweights were slated to headline UFC Vegas 103 last month, but Royval withdrew due to a concussion.

Royval confirmed the matchup on Instagram after Laerte Viana broke the news today.

“The plot thickens,” Royval wrote. “See y’all at International Fight Week.”

Royval (17-7) is on a mission to secure a trilogy fight with Alexandre Pantoja, racking up wins over former two-time Flyweight champ Brandon Moreno and becoming the first to topple the surging Japanese star Tatsuro Taira.

“Raw Dawg” has claimed victory in five of his last six bouts.

Kape (20-7) might want to steer clear of ladders and black cats—he’s had rotten luck since joining the UFC in 2021, with 10 canceled fights to his name.

In his latest outing, his first UFC main event, he dominated Asu Almabayev (watch here), though not without a touch of controversy (details here).

“Starboy” rides a two-fight win streak, both finishes, and a victory at UFC 317 could catapult him into a Flyweight title fight.
