UEFA Punishment For Kylian Mbappe & Real Madrid Teammates Ahead of Arsenal Tie

Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, and other Real Madrid players have learned of their fate following a UEFA investigation into their conduct after beating local rivals Atletico Madrid to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Looking to defend their title, Los Blancos are set to face Premier League giants Arsenal. However, after it was announced that alleged misconduct was being reviewed by UEFA, the possibility was raised that Madrid could be without several key players for the tie.

Now, it has been revealed exactly what will happen to Vinicius, Mbappe, as well as Antonio Rudiger and Dani Ceballos, with the clash against the Gunners now just days away.

Other Real Madrid stars have been hit with suspended bans

It has been revealed that following a UEFA investigation, no further action will be taken against Vinicius Junior, though three of his teammates were not so lucky with the findings. It was confirmed in a statement made by the European governing body that all three of Mbappe, Rudiger, and Ceballos had been slapped with fines and a one-match ban, which was initially suspended unless the players fail a “probationary period.”

The period in question is set to last just 12 months, while the fines range from €20,000 to €40,000 depending on the players. This means that all four will be available for Tuesday’s fixture at the Emirates Stadium on April 8th.

The news that no Madrid players are set to face any immediate punishment, except for the financial slap on the wrist, will be devastating for Arsenal fans, who have already learned that they will be without centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes for not only the last eight in Europe but for the remainder of the season after he suffered a hamstring injury.
