Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has revealed the truth behind the growing news that Inter midfielder Davide Fratzi is close to leaving in the winter transfer window.
“It wasn’t easy for us after losing the Super Cup final in this way, but the players performed well, even though they came here tired and injured,” Inzaghi said after Sunday’s 1-0 win over Venezia.
“If we analyse the second half, all our moves could have led to the second goal, and when you don’t kill the game it stays open, especially with the goalkeeper’s great saves. It wasn’t easy but we won and that’s what we wanted.”
“We have 43 points from 18 games, but the other teams are also continuing the pace and there are many games left,” he continued.
Regarding the possibility of Fratzi leaving, the Italian coach commented: “I count on David, he is part of this project.”
He explained: “He has been working hard and without Mkhitaryan’s injury he would probably have started today. He has given us a lot of satisfaction, I understand that he may want to play more but we are happy with him and we want to continue with him.”
