Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele refused to overestimate himself after scoring a brace in a 2-1 win over Saint-Etienne on Sunday evening in the 17th round of the French League.
“No, I’m not a new Ousmane Dembele, I’ve always been the same, it’s good to keep scoring goals and I’ll try to keep doing that,” Dembele told DAZN
after the game. “It’s an important win to move away at the top of the league table,” he added of the win over Saint-Etienne.
“We didn’t make the game easy for ourselves in the second half, but the opponent pressed and scored a goal. They didn’t come to the Parc des Princes to play defensively,”
Dembele concluded. “We had a lot of space on the pitch, and we could have scored two or three goals. Overall, we are happy with the win and the three points.”
Ousmane Dembele has now scored 10 goals in 16 Ligue 1 games this season, making him the team’s joint-top scorer in Ligue 1 alongside teammate Bradley Barcola.
