DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Columbia men’s golf team finished 12th at the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was held Monday and Tuesday at LPGA International’s Hills Course.
The Lions were led by the play of first-year Grant Lester, who carded rounds of 76, 75 and 76 to finish tied for 21st at 11-over par. He had three birdies and only posted one score worse than bogey across the 54 holes. Lester’s second round was steady, recording 15 pars and three bogeys for his 75.
Senior Wyatt McGovern (+14) tied for 38th in the 88-player field, which included an opening-round 74. Junior Darren Pang’s second-round 73 was the lowest round by a Lion in the tournament.

The Lions compete again in two weeks, March 17-18, at the ECU Intercollegiate. The tournament is being held at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina.
