Georgia’s Silas Demary on first road victory in the SEC vs Texas
Silas Demary shares his thoughts on first road win in the SEC: ‘We’re finally clicking and figuring it out’.
- Georgia basketball’s NCAA Tournament hopes are looking up after two big wins last week, including a victory over then-No. 3 Florida.
- The Bulldogs (18-11, 6-10 SEC) are projected as a No. 10 or No. 11 seed in most major bracket projections.
- Georgia closes out the regular season with a road game against South Carolina on Tuesday and a home game against Vanderbilt on Saturday.
Georgia basketball changed the trend line on its season with a pair of wins last week over then-No. 3 Florida at home and Texas on the road to take a bit of the pressure off its NCAA Tournament chances.
“It’s pleasing to see your team play, at times, as well as we’ve played all year,” Georgia coach Mike White said after Saturday’s win. “We still haven’t put an entire 40 (minutes) together. Most teams in the country haven’t and you want to do it at the right time. In terms of the big picture, it’s about South Carolina, it’s about our practice (for the game) and film. I think our guys believe if we just continue to get better, good things will continue to happen.”
So how do things look for the Bulldogs heading into a Tuesday night game at South Carolina when it comes to how they sit in March Madness projections?
Much better after the two big wins last week.
First, what’s ahead this week for a Georgia team that improved to 18-11, 6-10 in the SEC?
The Gamecocks still sit in last in the SEC standings but are coming off a 72-53 win over John Calipari’s Arkansas squad.
The Bulldogs close out the regular season with the home finale against Vanderbilt Saturday.
