Red Wings get 2025 conditional fourth-round pick in trade

Detroit — The Red Wings made a minor move ahead of Friday’s NHL trade deadline but didn’t acquire any players,

They did acquire a 2025 conditional fourth-round pick in a three-way trade that saw Tampa get forwards Yanni Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand, a 2026 fifth-round draft pick and forward Kyle Aucoin, and Seattle get forward Michael Eyssimont, and first-round draft picks in 2026 and ’27 (both top-10 protected).

Seattle will retain 50 percent of Gourde’s salary and the Wings 25 percent (roughly $1.29 million).

Detroit will get the earlier selection between Tampa Bay’s fourth-round pick and Edmonton’s fourth-round pick in the 2025 draft.

The Red Wings have nine picks in the 2025 draft, including its own pick in the first three rounds, along with an additional third-round choice from the New York Rangers. Detroit also has this fourth-round pick from the Lightning and their own picks in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds, plus a seventh-round pick from the St. Louis Blues.
