Glass, 25, is a pending restricted free agent this summer. He was a free pickup for the Pens, who added a third round pick in 2025 (and sixth in 2026) to take Glass and his $2.5 million salary off of Nashville’s hands in exchange for a non-NHL prospect on an NHL contract. Now they’ll add a second third round pick from New Jersey, a sturdy piece of business in their mission to compile as many draft picks as possible.
Glass scored four goals and added 11 assists for Pittsburgh this season in 51 games, playing center or wing and on a variety of lines. He grew into one of the team’s top penalty kill options. He had a good defensive impact but was unable or unwilling to go to the net and generate much by the way of offense.
