Aaron Rodgers visited Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers, fueling rumors that this could be his next team. However, according to a report by Mike Florio, his agent has advised him to take things very slowly.
“Some have criticized quarterback Aaron Rodgers for taking his time in picking a new team. As one source explains it, however, Rodgers is simply being a good client. Rodgers’s agent, David Dunn, has been encouraging Rodgers to be patient. Patience can become leverage. Leverage can improve offers. As we understand it, the Steelers have had an offer on the table for nearly two weeks. It hasn’t been sweetened, yet. It could be, in theory.”
The star quarterback is facing the final big decision of his career before retirement. Although the Vikings have the best roster to contend for the Super Bowl, Minnesota is currently not interested in signing him, which has allowed Pittsburgh to rise as a possible top choice.
What is Aaron Rodgers future?
Aaron Rodgers’ future is tied to the Steelers, the Vikings, and possibly retirement. Although the Giants are said to have made an offer, the reality is that New York seems far from being the most attractive option for the player.
However, this Friday’s visit to Pittsburgh is a signal never before sent by Rodgers. The quarterback had meetings with general manager Omar Khan, as well as with Mike Tomlin and his coaches. It could be the first step toward a contract with the Steelers.
