Backstage Reaction To Gruesome Jon Moxley Spike Spot On AEW Dynamite

Jon Moxley got the wrestling world talking one way or another following his most recent match on AEW Dynamite.

The World Champion put his title on the line against Cope for a second time on the March 19th edition of Dynamite, this time in a street fight. With Mox known for putting on violent matches, fans expected something graphic especially as it was the rematch.

While chairs and tables were used, the spot that went viral on social media saw the World Champion suplexed onto Spike, the name of Cope’s board of wood filled with nails. Stuck in Jon Moxley’s back for an extended period, both the referee and Wheeler Yuta struggled to remove it as fans and commentary watched on in horror.

Along with generating a lot of buzz online with fans giving their views on the dangerous spot, mainstream media outlets such as TMZ also picked up on the story due to the uncomfortable spot that took place. According to a follow-up report, more information has been provided on the backstage response.

As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the reaction to the Moxley spot was said to be “wild” with many in disbelief that this kind of spot happened after being teased for more than a decade on wrestling TV. Prior to Cope utilising Spike, former TNA star Abyss regularly used a similar-looking object called Janice.
