Thirteen Osceola County Public School students were honored at Osceola Arts by Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC—The Reliable One) for their outstanding efforts in raising awareness about energy conservation.Their dedication to sustainability and innovation is making a difference in our community, inspiring others to take action for a greener future!
OUC launched the Watts Savings Project to educate 4th and 5th grades about the importance of sustainable energy use. Students collaborated with their teachers to create artwork that illustrates a positive message or slogan about energy conservation. Thirteen students were selected to be featured in OUC’s 2025 Energy Conservation Calendar, and the community chose a Lakeview Elementary 5th grade student’s artwork for the cover.
“The Watts Savings Project is not just about reducing electricity consumption; it’s also about inspiring the next generation to be mindful stewards of our resources,” said Linda Ferrone, OUC Chief Customer and Marketing Officer. “It’s wonderful to see young minds engage with such an important issue – and we love seeing their creativity shine through in their work.”
