Rickie Fowler loves the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The 36-year-old American had a special relationship with the tournament’s late host and loves going back to Bay Hill Club and Lodge every March. This year, however, will be a different story. Due to a poor 2024 season, Fowler needed a sponsor’s invitation to play in next week’s API. That invite never came as both he and Jordan Spieth were left off the field for the Signature Event. Fowler knows that if he had “played better,” this wouldn’t have been an issue. But the only way for him to play in next week’s tournament is to win this week at the 2025 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches. Fowler, who won the tournament in 2017, charged up the board Saturday despite not having his best stuff and will begin Sunday’s final round three shots back of 54-hole leader Jake Knapp. Should Fowler win, he’ll receive a $1.65 million payday. But more importantly, he’ll get his ticket to Bay Hill. Fowler isn’t the only big story going on at PGA National. Star amateur Luke Clanton earned his PGA Tour card on Friday after making the cut and will try to go low Sunday to card his first-career PGA Tour win. Clanton will start the day six shots back of Knapp. Here are the payouts for the 2025 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.
