MLB Spring Training Scores 3/4/25: Cardinals 6, Mets 1

The Mets faced the Cardinals in a quick spring training game this afternoon, dropping the game to the Cardinals 6-1.

  • Tylor Megill started, going two and two thirds innings. He gave up a triple to Brendan Donovan in the second inning, and Donovan came in to score two batters later, putting the Mets in a 1-0 hole.
  • The Cardinals tacked on extra runs via a Nolan Arenado double in the sixth off of Austin Warren and a Matt Koperniak home run in the seventh off of Kevin Herget.
  • Brett Baty led off the eighth with a single, and was pulled for pinch runner Yonny Hernandez. Hernandez advanced to third on two ground outs before scoring on a fielding error with Alex Reamirez at the plate to give the Mets their sole run of the day.
  • Yacksel Rios pitched the eighth for New York, and Leonardo Bernal drove in the final run of the game off of his, scoring Johnfrank Salazar.
