Michigan State hockey has moved back ahead of Big Ten rival Minnesota in this week’s updated USCHO.com rankings.The Spartans moved up one spot to No. 2 in the updated rankings that were released on Monday. Michigan State was at No. 3 last week behind Boston College (No. 1) and Minnesota (No. 2), but now the Spartans are only behind the Eagles in the national rankings.Michigan State wrapped up the regular season this past weekend with a two-game sweep of Notre Dame. Those two wins propelled the Spartans into winning a second straight Big Ten title — sharing it with Minnesota.Five teams from the Big Ten were ranked this week: Michigan State (No. 2), Minnesota (No. 3), Ohio State (No. 9), Michigan (No. 11) and Penn State (No. 15). All five of those schools are currently in play for making the NCAA Tournament.Michigan State is off this weekend with a first round bye in the Big Ten Tournament.
