AUSTIN, Texas (WBTV) – NASCAR champion Brad Keselowski was carried off pit road on a stretcher after Sunday’s race at Circuit of the Americas, creating somewhat of a frightening scene.Keselowski’s team, RFK Racing — which he co-owns — said he was taken to the infield care center, where he was given IV fluids after his cooling suit failed during the race.A photo posted to social media showed the 2012 Cup Series champion strapped to the stretcher, with a towel over his head and just steps from his No. 6 car.NASCAR raced on a revised layout at Circuit of the Americas this year, but the 2.4-mile course still featured 17 turns and constant shifting. Drivers shifted hundreds of times throughout the 95-lap event, making the race in part a test of endurance. The shifting, coupled with the 80-degree weather in Central Texas made for a grueling day for drivers. After he was given fluids, RFK Racing said the 41-year-old Keselowski was released from the care center and was “feeling much better.”Despite the cooling suit issue, Keselowski managed to run the full race and finished 15th. It was his best finish of the season after he got caught up in crashes at both Daytona and Atlanta. He sits 26th in the point standings through three races.Christopher Bell passes Kyle Busch, outlasts William Byron to winFor the second week in a row, Christopher Bell’s raceday ended in Victory Lane.
