NBA DFS Lineup Picks & Advice: Sunday (3/2)

It’s Sunday, March 2nd – the moment where everything feels aligned, where the season’s rhythm is fully established and where opportunity is staring us right in the face. The path ahead isn’t complicated. It’s clear, direct and built for those who recognize the moment and seize it.
This slate? Stacked. The value? Undeniable. The upside? Limitless.
Tonight isn’t about overcomplicating things. The straightforward plays will produce, and the right mix of talent will separate those who execute from those who hesitate. The beauty of this season, of this league, is in its depth, versatility and sheer quality of play. Every night, someone new rises, reinforcing the greatness unfolding before us.
This is one of those slates where we crush, not just compete. It’s about leaning into the right spots, trusting the talent and maximizing every edge available.
The message is simple: Lock in. Execute. Dominate.

NBA DFS Core Plays
James Harden (PG – LAC)

DraftKings: $9,700
FanDuel: $9,300

Player Fantasy Narrative: The “Beard” is still to be “Feared”
We can’t take what this man was, is and continues to be for this league. Despite being several years removed from being seen as a single-man offensive recking crew and scoring specialist – and essentially evolving his game to that of the initial evolution of this new generation point guard – this man is still operating at an elite level in all areas of the game.
Up until his interesting separation from Philadelphia, and then finding himself once again on a very visible high-profile team, signing with the Los Angeles Clippers, he had been averaging a double-double as well as putting together awe-inspiring production and value in auxiliary stats like steals and blocks, which still shows signs of flourishing again as the Clippers look to remain relevant and competitive in this rapidly changing league.
Despite not being the newest, flashiest or most exciting team in the league, this team is stacked with great ballers, and Harden is leading them at an incredible pace to being one of the teams you hate to see early on in the playoffs. Like his game, his beard is a sign of excellence and maturity over time and should still be “feared” in the biblical sense or as it is the beginning of “Wisdom.” He is still someone to respect and keep honest, especially during this time when the postseason is essentially a powerplay for a generation preparing to transition to the next phase.
Los Angeles Lakers’ Opponent Stat Rankings (Per Game):

Points: 8th
Rebounds: 11th
Assists: 23rd
Blocks: 4th
Steals: 14th

Recommendation and Strategy: Bet on “Beard”
A second matchup against an equally nuanced and competitive Lakers squad should be one of the more funner games on the slate. Harden comes in at an excellent price point, with a high floor that should allow him to serve as a significant rising tide on a value-filled, fun slate.
On a Sunday, where these matchups are going to start defaulting to “real” ball and the talent of the experienced and skilled, I’d bet on “Beard.” I’d bet on “Beard” not only to be good with his production but potentially remind us just how much he has left on the upper end of his ceiling that could significantly impact the slate, where stars will be stars, but where the understated may go overlooked or under-supported to maximize their potential.
I’d lock in on him.
Core Play Considerations
Trey Murphy III (SF, PF, SG – NOP)

DraftKings: $8,000
FanDuel: $8,400

Devin Booker (PF, SG, SF – PHX)

DraftKings: $8,800
FanDuel: $9,400

NBA DFS Cash Game Targets
Trey Murphy III (SF, PF, SG – NOP)

DraftKings: $8,000
FanDuel: $8,400

Player Fantasy Narrative: Call him ‘Triple-T” – ‘Top-Tier-Trey’
Honestly, I don’t know if we fully appreciate just how special this guy is and can be. I don’t know when it happened, but Trey Murphy has quickly separated himself not just as one of the growing elites in the league from a production perspective but also an evolutionary perspective. This guy has had more positional changes in real and fantasy life than I can count, and we are still in a position where we have to be honest with ourselves in accepting that we still don’t know what he will be in the league from a positional perspective.
For a long time, Murphy seemed destined to be one of many growing talents in a Pelicans frontcourt alongside Herbert Jones. However, he has somehow become more than that. James Harden showed that a scorer can transform into a floor general, and Murphy has the potential to show just how “specifically general” numbers three and four can get.
This — and I say this respectfully —kid’s trajectory is ridiculous, and he hasn’t even played an entire season on an optimized team. Murphy’s production has leaped frog since he entered the league in the 2021 season, and wasn’t even on some disproportionate “he can plug and play as a specialist” or some, “Oh, he is going to grow eventually by being good at this one thing,” like he took his game from rookie to starter in less than a year. He is “Triple-T” — “Top-Tier-Trey” because I think this just may be the best thing to classify him as at this time.
Utah Jazz’s Opponent Stat Rankings (Per Game):

Points: 27th
Rebounds: T-7th
Assists: 28th
Blocks: 30th
Steals: 30th

Recommendation and Strategy: Call Murphy the New Orleans Jazz Man
This game is great for a competitive environment, but it can lead to players comfortably being pushed to go “beyond” (Goku voice) and playing towards their ceiling. Murphy is going to give you a safe floor, and his price point is sinfully low for this slate and matchup.
While the Jazz aren’t anything to play around with, this is an excellent environment for both of these growing — evolving rather — teams in the west to test out just how evolved they can get between now draft-and when they have to choose when they want to formally show they are out of rebuilding mode and in compete mode.
The matchup, the fact that he has had a few letdown games  and the state of the season could contribute to a great environment in which you not only get the protection of his floor but the competitive upper side of his ceiling as well to ensure you are well in the “greener-pastures” pf the money-zone.
Cash Game Target Considerations
James Harden (PG – LAC)

DraftKings: $9,700
FanDuel: $9,300

Donte DiVincenzo (PG, SG – MIN)

DraftKings: $5,300
FanDuel: $5,000

CJ McCollum (SG, PG – NOP)

DraftKings: $6,800
FanDuel: $7,400

NBA DFS GPP Targets
Devin Booker (PG, SG/SF – PHX)

DraftKings: $8,800
FanDuel: $9,400

Player Fantasy Narrative: Don’t Doubt Devin
Devin Booker might be the best example of consistency and big-play production in the league we have experienced recently. The significant “let-down” or this team’s “under-performance” has left a bad taste in the mouths of many, and I think this has led to many overlooking just how impactful and disgustingly good this guy has been since making his climb into the limelight still leading a Suns team to bigger and brighter days.
Booker’s letdown games don’t even seem like it is due to ability or skill; it looks as though it is scaled to the outcome of the contest, to the point where he can smartly adjust his power level output to not only position himself for a potential bounce back in the next one but also account for a foe who may be hiding a few more transformations or tricks in their arsenal to get him startled.
This kind of control and responsiveness separates him in a class of his own and possibly as a great GPP play on tonight’s slate.
Minnesota Timberwolves’ Opponent Stat Rankings (Per Game):

Points: 6th
Rebounds: 13th
Assists: 5th
Blocks: 14th
Steals: 21st

Recommendation and Strategy: It’s his “Timber…Land”
Being able to remain inspired game after game, let alone year after year, is worthy of a championship ring in today’s sport. The fact Booker has been able to remain productively relevant and impactfully relevant while just balling is incredible. The Suns are on a great trajectory to be a team you’d hate to see in the postseason, and a win against a seemingly “culturally compromised’ squad seems like great fuel to pour on the fire of a team that will choose and seemingly have its fate in its hands.
The Timberwolves against this ramping squad may not be in a great spot to continue their momentum right now, especially as they are in the midst of a losing streak. A home game can be the perfect added fuel needed for them to lock in. Booker’s price point, upside, and situation are great on this slate, especially as he is someone who can break the slate anytime he is on it.
