Nebraska drops heartbreaker to Minnesota in blow to NCAA Tournament hopes


LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – Nebraska men’s basketball erased a 19-point deficit in the second half, but a last-second shot from Minnesota delivered the Huskers their third straight loss, 67-65. Trailing 64-63 with 19 seconds remaining, Nebraska successfully trapped the Golden Gophers in a 10-second violation to take over possession. A Juwan Gary second-chance lay-in gave Nebraska the one-point lead with nine seconds, before Minnesota’s Brennan Rigsby drained a game-winning three-pointer.The setback marked the worst loss of the season for a Nebraska team (17-12, 7-11) fighting to stay in the field for the NCAA Tournament. Minnesota (15-14, 7-11) entered the day ranked 97th in the NET, qualifying Saturday’s result as the Huskers first Quad 3 loss.
