STORRS, CT. (WFSB) – UConn superstar Paige Bueckers added another notch to her excellent college career by receiving the 2025 Wade Trophy.
The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association made the announcement Thursday. The award is the oldest national player of the year honor in women’s college basketball.
She is averaging a team high 20.1 points and 4.8 assists per game this season.
In the NCAA Tournament, Bueckers has been phenomenal as well, averaging 26.1 points and 2.4 steals per game.
In every season that she has played in, the Huskies have made the Final Four.
Bueckers currently ranks third in UConn history with 2,406 career points and is ninth in assists with 556.
She now becomes the seventh Husky to win the award, joining Rebecca Lobo, Jennifer Rizzotti, Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, Maya Moore, and Breanna Stewart.
