The Bride

Alex and Anna had balloons and signs waiting at the AirBNB they rented for the weekend. So cute! And I’m just going to warn you: This is the first of many white dresses you’re going to see. In case you are old and out of touch like I am, I guess the thing these days is for brides to wear white to everything, from showers to parties to bachelorette parties. No polka dots or flowers on Paige for awhile. 😊
The Bridal “Suite”

I’m pretty sure Paige had to share her bedroom with two other girls, but what a fun touch! I haven’t yet interrogated Alex and Anna to see how early they had to get there to set all this up. I need them to plan my next bachelorette party! Wait . . .

Sisters ❤️

This was the first time Alex has spent a night away from Sofia . . . and it was three nights! I was a little worried reality would hit once she got to Charleston and she’d want to go back to Dallas early. But Mauricio and his mom kept Sofia, so Alex felt so confident and secure being away. I’m so happy she got to be there for Paige! (And by Alex’s own admission, the second she was reunited with Sofia on Sunday, she started crying. I remember those days!)
David was there in spirit

I don’t know what to say about the David signs and stickers all over the place, but this photo made me laugh. And are those stickers or is it some kind of memory/mix-and-match game? Again, I have questions. (Cute monogrammed canvas totes! Very Charleston.)

Bachelorette Parties Have Gotten Fancy

My bachelorette party was in an event room at a hotel in my hometown of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. I believe it started at 5:00 pm and ended at 7:30 pm. In attendance were my mother, my mother-in-law, my three bridesmaids, and a few close friends and family members. I have a vivid memory that someone at the party anonymously gave me a basket of funny bachelorette items, one of which was a box of pasta shaped like something anatomical that shall remain nameless. When I saw it, I thought to myself, “Oh no . . . my future mother-in-law is about to see this.” And sure enough, she walked over and took a closer look and started laughing, then she got the giggles and couldn’t stop. I’m laughing just typing this. That’s when I knew Nan and I were going to have a long, fun life together.
Friends . . .and Cousins!

On the far right in the front, you may recognize Halle, my niece and Paige’s cousin! Halle is Tim and Missy’s daughter, and I just love that beautiful girl. She’s working on her pilot’s license, she graduated from college last year, and she’s one of my favorite people to be around. So glad she was able to join the crew in Charleston!

Another David Sighting

There he is again! I wonder if he has seen these photos of himself in swizzle stick form? Is this a trend? Is this something bachelorettes do these days? Again, I was in a hotel in my hometown trying to shield my mother-in-law from seeing a box of anatomically-shaped pasta, so I might be a little behind.
The Cutest AirBNB

Fortunately the planning for this weekend started quickly after Paige and David’s engagement last August, which is why they were able to snag this AirBNB during this spring break weekend. And here is something amazing: Ladd’s best childhood friend from Pawhuska happens to live in Charleston, and his wife coincidentally manages this property! Such a fun little crossover moment.

Friends for Life

Cousin Halle is third from left, lifelong friend Langley is next to her, then there’s Alex next to Paige. The rest of the bridesmaids are friends from University of Arkansas. They’re all wonderful girls. Woo Pig!!!
Beachy Keen

This photo reminded me of Hilton Head, where my family and I went on summer vacations as a child, and, it so happens, where David’s bachelor weekend was the weekend before Paige’s bachelorette. Todd and Bryce both got to break away from school to go, and I think they had a great time! I think this is a different white dress/white outfit, right? That’s two.

Aye Aye, Captain!

Alex and Anna has planned a fun cocktail cruise on Saturday night, it looks like Paige didn’t have a good time at all. 😊 Also, is this another white dress? That’s three, I think.
White sweatshirts are okay, too!

I think Paige sent this photo to David the day she arrived. He sure is being a good sport about all of this! It’s like he was a guest at the bachelorette weekend. (Whether he wanted to be or not!)

Dinnertime!

This is white dress number . . . I’ve lost track! But this photo makes me happy because that is one genuine smile on Paige’s face. I think being able to celebrate with her friends touched one of her love languages, and it shows. I’m so happy for my second-born daughter.
Sparkle Dress Night!

All the girls brought a sparkly dress to go out on (I think) the last night. Paige with her maid and matron of honor. I’m now trying to figure out how I can plan a middle-aged sparkle dress night sometime. You can’t wear sparkles and not have fun.

Alex and Paigie

Do any of you remember reading my blog in the old days? If so, I hope you are able to reconcile this photo better than I am. I can’t believe how quickly time has flown. They were (I think) 6 and 8 when I started blogging in the old days. Now Alex is a mother and Paige is getting married in less than seven weeks. Unreal!
Hello again, David

I’ll end with this shot. I think it sums up a lot. David, thank you for sharing all your bachelorette experiences with us! I hope you had a good time—you had such a great smile on your face the whole time!!!
