ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Freshman women’s golfer Sloane Biddle has been named Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Golfer of the Week as announced by the conference office on Thursday. This is the first time she has won the award.
Biddle earned the honor after tying for fifth place at this week’s Huntsville.org Intercollegiate in Alabama. She carded rounds of 75-76-76 for a 227 total. It was her second top-five finish of the season and her fourth top-20 showing. As a team, the Bruins finished in sixth place.
For the season, the Old Hickory, Tennessee native has played in all five events and ranks second on the team in scoring average at 75.2.
Sloane is the second Bruin this season to earn weekly honors from the MVC, joining teammate Chloe Tarkany, who won it twice last fall.
With this award, Biddle becomes the sixth freshman in program history to be named Golfer of the Week.
The women’s golf team will be back in action this Monday and Tuesday at the Don Benbow Invitational hosted by Butler in Oldsmar, Florida.
