Syracuse Orange sophomore runner Benne Anderson made the qualifying list for next week’s NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, VA.
Anderson earned the 16th and final spot in the men’s mile with his school record time of 3:54.12. He was able to get into the meet when the two fastest milers this season, UNC’s Ethan Strand and Virginia’s Gary Martin, opted for other events at the meet. The fastest qualifier in the field is Washington’s Nathan Green with a 3:50.74.
This will be the 2nd NCAA track appearance for Anderson, who finished 22nd in the 1500m at last summer’s Outdoor Championships.
The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships begin on Friday, March 14 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Anderson will compete in the semifinal heats of the mile at 7:00 pm. Finals of the mile will be held Saturday March 15th at 6:00 pm.
Coverage of the meet will be on ESPN Networks/Watch ESPN. Live results can be found here.
