Taylor Swift’s godson cannot be alone with his mother after court ruling

A ruling has been delivered in the battle between model and actress Jamie King and her ex-husband Kyle Newman.

People reports that Newman has been granted sole physical custody of their two sons, James, 11, and Leo, 9. Leo Newman is the godson of pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Both boys will live with their father, and King has been granted supervised visitation rights.

According to People, the supervised visits are required as King has not completed a 6-month drug/alcohol program, a 26-week parenting program, and similar related counseling steps.

King and Newman were married in 2007, and King filed for divorce in May 2020. The couple has filed several competing claims against one another since their divorce proceedings began.

At the time of their divorce, King filed a domestic violence prevention petition and an emergency motion regarding child custody and visitation.

King also claimed that Newman staged an intervention for her in January of 2020, and that she agreed to go to a drug treatment facility in order to prove she was not using drugs.

Newman’s filing claim that King was “a chronic drug addict and alcoholic who refuses to acknowledge that she has a problem, let alone seek meaningful treatment for such problem,” according to People.

His filings further claimed that King was drinking and using drugs while pregnant with both children, drove with both children in the car while under the influence, and had abandoned them “for days at a time” while abusing drugs and alcohol.
