Apple’s Foldable iPhone
Kuo revealed that the foldable ‌iPhone‌ will measure between 9 and 9.5 mm when folded, and around 4.5 to 4.8 mm when unfolded. The device will feature a titanium alloy casing with a hinge made of stainless steel and titanium alloy and it will have a dual-lens rear camera with a front-facing camera for both folded and unfolded states.
Kuo says the phone will not have Face ID. Instead, it will use a Touch ID side button to save internal space. It will also be designed as a ‘true AI-driven phone,’ with the larger screens making multitasking with AI easier. The foldable iPhone could cost over $2,000, possibly even $2,500. According to Kuo, Apple aims to attract its loyal fans, with some seeing it as a “must-have” if it meets expectations.
Apple plans to finalize the specs of its first foldable iPhone by the second quarter of this year and start the project in the third quarter, the report said. Mass production is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, with a possible launch in late 2026 or early 2027. A second-generation model is reportedly in development for the following year.
Recently, Analyst Jeff Pu also claimed that a foldable ‌iPhone‌ could come out as soon as late 2026, while TrendForce said that it would come in 2027. Rumors suggest that Apple is close to selecting a supplier for a foldable display.
