A star-studded new trailer has been released for the series The Studio. The Studio is an upcoming Apple TV+ satirical comedy about a Hollywood movie studio struggling to survive in an increasingly difficult business landscape. The series was created by Seth Rogen with co-creators including Evan Goldberg, Alex Gregory, Peter Huyck, and Frida Perez. Rogen will also be featured as a main actor in the series, whose cast also includes Catherine O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn, Anthony Mackie, Paul Dano, Zac Efron, Owen Kline, and Nicholas Stoller.
Now, Apple TV+ has released a new trailer for The Studio.
After an intro showing Rogen excited to watch a trailer, his character is introduced as a highly-driven producer, Matt Remick, who is conflicted about his job running the show’s studio, Continental. Matt has a dream to make films that are both blockbuster hits and prestige films, a concept which is quickly shut down by fellow industry experts. Though well-intentioned, Matt stumbles his way into multiple situations, including interrupting an acting filming endeavor from director Sarah Polley and actor Greta Lee.
What This Means For The Studio
The Studio Will Feature Regular Joke Trailers
This The Studio trailer comes after the show previously released a teaser during the Super Bowl. Both glimpses of the Apple TV+ series revealed that the series will feature trailers from the fictional Continental Studios which include recognizable Hollywood stars. This trailer revealed was DUHPOCALYPSE, an absurdist zombie apocalypse movie starring Johnny Knoxville and Josh Hutcherson. A glimpse at one of Continental Studios’ movies in this trailer shows Dano on the big screen. This device will provide the opportunity for ample guest star appearances throughout the series.

Unlike the previous teaser, this trailer gives further insight into Rogen’s character. Throughout, it is clear that Matt has nothing but good intentions as he tries to speak with Lee about awards season or making quality art. Amusingly, this seems to result in him getting screamed at by all of faux-Hollywood, a recurring joke that will be funny both in-universe of The Studio and on a meta level as known actors scream in Rogen’s face.
Our Take On The Studio Trailer
Rogen Is The Perfect Choice To Play Matt
As a fan of Rogen’s, I find The Studio could be particularly appealing because of Rogen’s own Hollywood track record. Though he was originally known for goofy comedies like Knocked Up, Rogen has fashioned himself a talented dramatic actor as well as a producer. He is on the creative team for numerous notable series, such as The Boys and Invincible. As such, it is refreshing to see Rogen play someone who is at once embedded in a blockbuster production and graced with a coherent vision, as that character seems somewhat reflective of what the actor is like in real life.
