BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – An eighth-generation Texan and a country singer/ songwriter whose music stays true to her roots, Delaney Ann’s songs capture the heart of Texas, weaving together tradition and authenticity.
The song she played for First News at Four on Free Music Friday is called “232,” and is a reference to land her grandfather bought.
“He came from nothing and he just worked really hard throughout his life to to buy a little bit of land in Grimes County, and so the song is about County Road 232, not that far from here,” Ann told KBTX. “It’s about the blessing that this land has been passed down to us, and how it’s the place that I always will call home.”
She is no stranger to the music industry and has most recently signed a record deal in Nashville, and completed a national tour.
Delaney is playing at Century Square on Saturday, May 3 from 7 pm to 10 p.m.
