STEUBENVILLE, OH — The Steubenville Art Association hosted its second “Show Us Your Stuff” art show at the Fort Steuben Visitor Center on Saturday, featuring over 100 pieces from talented local artists.
This year’s theme, “Dreams and Imaginations,” encouraged surrealistic art, though all types of art were welcomed.
Judy Schmidt, president of the Steubenville Art Association, highlighted the involvement of young artists. “We have children as low as 5 years old who have gotten involved. One of our people has a Sunday class in Wellsburg, and a lot of the children are autistic or disadvantaged, and they are here in groups with their artwork,” she said. “And of course, the students from the Center of Music in Art that work with Gerald Van Scyoc and Kennedy, Conrad.”
Alysia Basluke, vice president of the association, expressed her excitement about the event. “There are so many awesome artists here, and it is fun to watch everyone bring their art, and everything is so different,” she said.
The art will be on display at the Visitor Center until March 22. For those interested in learning more about the Steubenville Art Association click here.
