Austin Cindric could face a NASCAR penalty after a wreck with Ty Dillon at Circuit of the Americas. During the NASCAR Cup Series race at COTA, Cindric appeared to internationally right-hook Dillon on the front stretch after the No. 10 car ran him wide in Turn 20. Dillon came across the track, making contact with Zane Smith and the wall.NASCAR didn’t penalize Cindric during the race at COTA, but his actions will likely be reviewed during the week. The Team Penske driver could face a one-race suspension that effectively takes away any playoff points earned during the 2025 Cup Series season; however, that doesn’t seem to be a likely scenario.Instead, Cindric could receive a points penalty and/or monetary fine, which seems to be NASCAR’s precedent for retaliation when both drivers continue in the event. The driver of the No. 2 car finished in 25th place, while Dillon ended in 28th place.
