After two disappointing seasons with the Cleveland Browns, safety Juan Thornhill has landed in the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Thornhill was released by the Browns at the start of the new league year as a post-June 1 designation. It did not take him long to find a new home in Pittsburgh, where he has inked a one-year deal. How much the Steelers are paying him has not yet been disclosed.
The safety was a key free agency signing for the Browns two years ago when he inked a three-year deal worth $7 million per year. He did not make it to the third year of that deal after two lackluster seasons which he suffered through calf injuries. Thornhill has also come under fire from fans and media for a lack of effort shown on the field and an abundance of effort shown on social media.
He even took to social media to toss out his Browns hat to swap it out for a Steelers one.
We’ll see how that works out for the Steelers and for Thornhill. It could not go much worse than it did in Cleveland.
