Kylian Mbappe Matches Real Madrid Legend’s Record, Shares Insights on Their Frequent Conversations.
Kylian Mbappe recently reached a significant milestone when he matched Real Madrid legend Ronaldo’s 33-goal tally from his debut season. The French forward achieved the milestone after scoring twice in Los Blancos’ 3-2 win over Leganes on Saturday. When he was asked about it later, he expressed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mbappe opened the scoring of the day with a Panenka-style penalty. Then he secured the qin with a stunning free kick which was also the first in his career. His contribution ensured that Real Madrid stays level on points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga. Following the match, Mbappe talked about it on Real Madrid TV, saying:
“It’s very special… to have the same number of goals as Cristiano is always good. We know what he means for Real Madrid and me, we speak, he gives me a lot of advice, he scored many goals – but we have to win trophies here.”
Mbappe’s Ambitions and Frequent Conversations with Ronaldo
Mbappe revealed that he maintains regular contact with Ronaldo. It’s a known fact that the Madrid legend is an influential figure in Mbappe’s career. The French forward has always spoken about him in high regards. He’s also moving in the right direction as Ronaldo in Real Madrid with an outstanding form this season.
He has scored 16 goals in his last 16 league games. With a good amount of time and matches left of the season, Mbappe could even soon touch another club milestone. He could break Ivan Zamorano’s record of 37 goals in his first season at Madrid.

Ancelotti’s Praise and Mbappe’s Determination
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has also lauded Mbappe’s growing influence since his arrival. “He’s doing very well, he’s a lot more active and present in [the team’s] play,” Ancelotti said, “he’s making the difference and that’s what we want from him.”
Ancelotti had previously stated that Mbappe has the potential to reach Ronaldo’s legendary status. However, he also emphasized the hard work Mbappe would need to do so. Ancelotti said:

Hence, Mbappe has a good amount of time to significantly increase his goal count, starting with Real Madrid’s next game against Real Sociedad in Copa del Rey semi-finals.
