SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Gina Lewandowski has been named an assistant coach for Notre Dame Women’s Soccer, head coach Nate Norman announced. Lewandowski comes to South Bend following three years on the Lehigh coaching staff and an illustrious playing career both collegiately and professionally.
“We are very excited to have Gina join our staff,” Norman said. “She brings a vast amount of experience as a coach and a player to our staff. She had a highly successful college and professional career that spanned 15 years playing at the highest levels in the world. Those experiences, and her coaching experience, will be invaluable to our players as we work to continue to help our players reach their fullest potential and to be the most prepared for life after college. Her fantastic soccer mind will add different ideas to our staff and challenge us to be better. She also possesses the character that will fit right into our program and staff. I have no doubt that we will all greatly benefit from Gina being a part of our staff and team.”
Lewandowski played and graduated from Lehigh in 2007, where she was a two-time Patriot League Player of the Year. After a 15-year professional playing career, she returned to coach her alma mater in 2022. In 2023, Lewandowski was promoted to associate head coach.
